If you have stock peasants that react to dragons just like everybody else, then you don't run as much of a risk of losing questlines due to dragons.Electronic components. I can't even begin to count the number of quests that I haven't been able to complete because a dragon ate the dude that I was supposed to turn it in to. Skyrim actually kinds of needs pointless stock characters. Here is another thought that popped into my head. They have a bed that they can sleep in, sure, but what about their families? Their children? Where are they at? There are plenty of guards that are replenished when they die and that don't do anything but stand there. Is there any reason why you can't have randomly populated characters that don't have a 24 hr schedule? Characters that are spawned as needed with short term scripts such as "drink while sitting in this chair until the PC leaves" or "walk around a shop in the market until PC leaves"?Īs far as infrastructure goes, that is another thing that bugged me. I loved Skyrim and the only thing that I was actually disappointed about was the inability to affect a hold's economy by interfering (burning crops, cutting wood, selling loot).īut do they HAVE to have that information? I mean, lets say that a hold has a population of 30 people, each with a 24 hr schedule. Everybody doesn't need a specific storyline, and it never made sense to me that more than 60% of the city's population lived inside the walls in a largely agrarian society. There are what, a few dozen people living in Whiterun? I don't feel like that's enough people to effectively manage the economy of a city that size (by which I mean the architecture), even when you consider the smaller amount of people who live outside the city walls. I do really wish that there had been more NPCs in Skyrim though, and in similar games. GTAIV would have been much less fun if I were stuck in bumper to bumper traffic all the time. It's a huge memory drain, and crowds become an obstacle when you are driving around, especially when you think about the resultant traffic. I've always wished that there were more crowds in GTA, but I understand why there isn't. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
